MolinaCares funds biglittleproject.org in time for back-to-school

SANTA FE, N.M. Aug. 23, 2023 —The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of New Mexico (“Molina”), and Cooking with Kids (“CWK”) just launched the biglittleproject.org website, which expands free access to CWK’s nutrition education program throughout New Mexico. A MolinaCares grant to CWK was announced earlier this year to help broaden the reach of these needed resources and encourage healthier eating habits at an early age with the added benefit of encouraging bonding between children and their parents or mentors.

“MolinaCares is proud to help launch biglittleproject.org and strongly believes proper nutrition is medicine,” said Carolyn Ingram, plan president of Molina Healthcare of New Mexico. “This new website will serve as a resource for schools and families looking to teach New Mexico’s youngest generation about the importance of healthy eating with the cool perk of taste testing yummy, good-for-you dishes and sampling foods from around the world.”

The new website delivers CWK curriculum, recipes, videos, and inspiration for kids and adults looking to learn about how food is grown – farm to table – and different ways of preparing, seasoning, and presenting dishes, all lessons that will last a lifetime. BIG little Project provides resources unique to CWK that support, facilitate, and nurture positive culinary experiences.

“Cooking with Kids is honored to partner with MolinaCares in this exciting new project,” said Anna Farrier, executive director of Cooking with Kids. “We actively use our nutrition education materials with more than 6,000 kids in northern New Mexico, and we know that when kids help prepare healthy foods, they are more likely to eat and enjoy them. With MolinaCares’ support, the BIG little Project can now serve as a platform to share this rich library of resources with the entire state of New Mexico.”
