05/29/2013

Molina Healthcare honored local community volunteers for their volunteerism and service at the third annual Community Champions Awards event. Awards were presented to John Horejsi, Anne Louise Lainge Bailey and Hank Chao. The awards dinner was held at Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center in Fairfax.

“Events like the Community Champion Awards are an opportunity to meet inspiring people like you and hear about all that you do in the community,  which in turn reminds us why we do what we do—serve those most in need,” said  Jean Glossa, MD, medical director for Molina Healthcare and the Community Health Care Network. “The volunteers honored tonight are an inspiration to all of us.”

Established to honor the memory of Molina Healthcare’s founder Dr. C. David Molina, the Community Champions award program spotlights the good deeds of everyday heroes in their communities.  Molina has been hosting the Community Champions Awards for seven years in the states that it operates.  The winners are nominated by community-based organizations and they each receive a $1000 grant to give to a deserving nonprofit organization as part of the award.
